Neighbors in West Philadelphia came together on Saturday, September 8 for Hope for Philly. The annual community event provides free food, entertainment and local resources to residents and their families.
Youth enjoyed a bounce house and face painting. Flu and pneumonia shots and breast health services were available at no cost to neighbors. The event also featured free job and career services, new and used clothing and shoes, and free haircuts for kids.
The Salvation Army’s West Philadelphia Corps Community Center is committed to “doing the most good” to local residents and families in need.
Each year it helps more than 4,000 adults and children facing crisis through after-school programming, food assistance, holiday assistance, GED classes, legal assistance, and various event and enrichment activities.
