Philadelphia (March 25, 2019) – Telecom industry experts, career coaches, potential employers and students gathered for the Work-Tech Career Summit in Philadelphia on March 6. The goal – to engage and educate those enrolled in The Salvation Army’s Work-Tech program about the importance of career development, preparation and networking.
The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia’s Be Your Best program celebrated the conclusion of the 9-week session with a ceremonial tea party at The Sofitel Philadelphia on June 8, 2018. Dressed in their finest, the girls arrived in a limo and walked the red carpet just like celebrities!
The theme for this year’s event was “Shine.” Lorina Marshall Blake, President of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation and Vice President, Community Affairs, Independence Blue Cross, served as keynote speaker.
The Salvation Army’s West Philadelphia Corps Community Center is known for its robust 21st Century Learning Zone – an after-school program, which provides young people with a safe, caring and educational environment. Every weekday afternoon the building is buzzing with students’ energy and excitement – from the digital learning program to puppetry class.
